Biogas Plant Project in Haryana, India

Arciplug®’s biogas plant in Haryana, India, is built for efficient renewable energy production. Utilizing rice/paddy straw along with cow dung, the system maximizes biogas output through advanced PLUG FLOW technology.

With Arciplug® PLUG FLOW technology, a wide variety of feedstocks can be processed efficiently. The system supports the simultaneous use of different feedstocks or a complete switch to an alternative feed in case of availability issues. This flexibility enables the utilization of both conventional waste and more challenging raw materials, such as solid waste, straw, and other complex organic streams, contributing to India’s sustainable energy transition.

Traditionally, paddy straw in Haryana has been burned in nearby fields, significantly contributing to air pollution and smog in Delhi. You can read more about this from here Indian the government Press Release. Arciplug®’s innovative biogas technology provides a sustainable alternative, converting rice straw into renewable biomethane and high-quality fertilizer. This helps replace fossil-based natural gas, improve local air quality, and offer a valuable agricultural resource for local farmers.

Arciplug® leads process design, automation, and reactor engineering, while Uzzala Bio Energy Solutions serves as the EPC contractor. This partnership ensures seamless integration of cutting-edge technology with cost-effective execution, fostering innovation in renewable energy—proudly Made in India.”

As part of our commitment to advancing the biogas sector, we are also members of the Indian Biogas Association, working together to strengthen India’s national biogas strategy.

In March 2025, the first reactor entered biological commissioning, marking a major milestone in the plant’s biogas production journey.

PLUG FLOW Technology & key figures

The plant is based on a continuous PLUG FLOW dry anaerobic digestion process, an efficient method for processing biomass with a high solids content.

The biogas digester processes paddy/rice straw and cow manure as feedstock – with a plant processing capacity of 38,300 tons per year (105 tons per day.)

The Haryana biogas plant has three biogas digesters with a total volume of 10,790 m³. They will produce 1,690 Nm³/h of Biogas and 15.3 tons of BioCNG/CBG per day.

Commissioning in Q2 2025.
